How marking works
Mistakes are counted as full + half of half, then an allowance of 5% of the words you typed is subtracted; only mistakes beyond the allowance reduce your speed. You must also type at least 300 words: below that the test is not evaluated.
Worked example: you type 330 words with 21 total mistakes. The allowance is 5% of 330 = 16.5, so 4.5 mistakes are chargeable, deducted from gross speed over 10 minutes. Typing fewer than 300 words fails regardless of speed.
